Football For All League Respect Campaign Commitment

The FA’s Respect campaign aims to educate parents and coaches on their roles in creating a fun, safe and inclusive environment for players to ensure the campaign is embraced throughout the age groups and result in sustained participation from players and volunteers alike.

The Surrey Football For All League fully embraces the campaign, not just for our youth players but to support and develop the positive culture in our adult teams too. As a result, we have appointed a Respect Officer, who will lead on the Respect campaign for the league.

In the 2017/18 end of season team survey, 60% of Football For All League teams stated they would rather focus on Respect points and participation than on league points and winning. As a result, all teams will now be awarded Respect Points every month by the referees, which will feed into a league Respect table for each age group and division. The team which has been awarded the most points at the end of the season will be awarded winners of the Respect Trophy for their division. The adult Championship, Premiership 1 and Premiership 2 divisions will continue to have a league points table alongside the Respect one.

Respect League Tables

All teams are scored out of 100 every tournament by the referees, across 10 criteria, shown below. The team with the highest average score at the end of the season will win the Respect Award. Each category is scored out of 10, with 0 meaning teams do not meet any statements, 5 being okay but needs improvement and 10 being fantastic.
